As many of you are aware, the number of COVID-19 cases has grown exponentially in Arizona in the past few days with very little indication of a change of course in the near future. Camp Tuku is and always has been committed to the safety and well-being of our campers, their families, and our staff and therefore it is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of in-person camp this season.
We know this is a disappointment for many of our families and their campers. We too are sad to miss camp fire s’mores, archery, and our mindfulness garden. But, despite these challenges, we believe that now more than ever our children need an outlet to cultivate community and the skills of mindfulness to develop resiliency in a rapidly changing world.
As such, we are thrilled to announce Camp Tuku will be offering a FREE virtual camp to be hosted from July 20th – July 24th from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM daily, with a few evening activities throughout the week including our virtual dance party and camper talent show!
At Camp Tuku Online, our campers will have the opportunity to build community with their virtual ‘bunk’ through engaging games, songs, and activities. Camp will start with our morning welcome, mindfulness, and yoga followed by a series of engaging activities ranging from arts and crafts to healthy cooking and much more! Additionally, each day will include afternoon challenges for campers to complete with their families including fun activities related to aquatics, outdoor exploration, and socio-emotional growth.
The campers who are enrolled in the rookie camp will have the priority to sign up for the virtual camp. The remaining slots will be open to campers on a first come first serve basis.
We hope to see you online in a few weeks at Camp Tuku, where nature meets joyful minds!
