We all know how non-stop stress can impact our health and performance. Why would we expect our children to be any different?

The stress and pressure that children experience on a daily basis can result in diminished performance, lower test scores, and can even lead to unwanted physiological and psychological symptoms. For instance, it is common nowadays for children to experience anxiety, depression and an overall feeling of sadness. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way. There are simple things that children can do to help alleviate this stress response and strengthen their resilience. At Camp Tuku, children will learn and practice positive ways to cope with stress.

Camp Tuku offers a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about emotions in a way that is both meaningful and fun. The Camp’s proven mindfulness program gives kids the chance to better understand and manage their emotions. They will learn to identify and express their emotions, and to shift their state any time they feel depleting emotions such as sadness, disappointment, anger, frustration, and so on. Campers will be trained on a powerful tool based on research from the Institute of HeartMath that they can use any time to quickly gain control of their emotions. This is important because studies show that being trained on socio-emotional skills at this early age can improve their behavior and performance at school, home and play.

Your children will leave Camp Tuku with powerful tools that will help them manage stress more effectively and benefit them for many years to come!
